LJÓSOP EHF -- Guðbergur Daviðsson
Guðbergur graduated as a filmmaker from San Francisco Art Institute in 1983 and has worked in films since, first mostly in advertising and television programs. From 1985 he worked for several years as a news-producer at RUV-TV and for two years at Thule film in Norway. Guðbergur founded Screen-One television in Iceland 1999 and designed and managed all the stations program production and technical installation for the first five years. Recently has Guðbergur focus on documentaries with his company Ljósop ehf.

Iceland: The Cold War Frontier - explores the history and activities of the American defense force in Iceland from 1951 to 2006, the Iceland's role in the Cold War and the enormous impact it had on the country, its people and culture. Four 52 minute films for television.
New hands - This is a miracle story about a man without hands that refuses to accept the fate handed to him and decides to take his matters into his own… hands to fulfill his dream to hug his daughters. He undergoes an transplant operations and gets new hands.

This is a poetic and authentic story describing the life cycle of the arctic fox. This documentary is a story of a miracle; a survival of a family of arctic foxes in a harsh Icelandic environment. Shown at RUV-TV.

2012. Lady ot the Mountain ( length: 28 minutes)
In the summer of 2004. two engineers from Seyðisfjörður found a three-blade broach and an oval broach high in the Mountains of East Fjords in Iceland. Archaeologists arrived on the scene under the direction of Sigurdur Bergsteinsson. They discovered the remains of a Viking woman, some jewelry and over 500 pearls.
The finding was unique, never before have so many artifacts from a Viking woman been found outside a burial muond. Who was this woman? What was she doing in the mountains, all by herself? Was she a sibyl ? Or was she a refugee ? Shown at RUV-TV.
2011. Balance ( length: 52 minutes)
Balance is a documentary about Bryndís Pétursdóttir, geopathic stress, electromagnetic waves and the effects on these invisible and untouchable phenomenae on the well being of people. Bryndís senses those waves and makes them harmless with the Balance cube she invented. We meet people she assists and hear explanations and counter-arguments from specialists who research those waves.
2010. The Iron Cross at Mýrar Cemetery (length: 45minutes)
A documentary about a teacher from Reykjavik in search of her roots and with a passion for preserving tales and objects from bygone times. The family grave is overgrown and neglected and she hears her dead ancestors call out to her to do something. Shown at RUV-TV.

A documentary about The Coast Guard Vessel Odinn fifty years of serving fishermen at the sea and fighting with the the british warship. Shown at RUV-TV.
2008. The Wizard in Súgandi (length: 30 minutes)
A documentary about life in a small fishing village in the West Fjords where thirty of the three hundred villagers take time out from their everyday life to stage The Wizard of Oz. Shown at RUV-TV.
1998. Fourteen Years in China (length: 42 minutes)
A documentary on Ólafur Ólafsson, who spent fourteen years in China as Christian missionary ( 1928-1942). Shown at RUV-TV.
1996. Aðalvík: The Locality the Modern Age Destroyed (length: 52 minutes)
A documentary about life in former times in Aðalvík in the remote West Fjords. The story of how a community was suddenly wiped out. Shown at RUV-TV.
